How do I take the herbs?
Take your herbs as prescribed with about 1/2 cup of warm water.
If you are taking herbal granules, use the provided spoon (1 level spoon = 1 gram). Measure your dose and mix it in hot water to make a tea. Stir well before drinking.
How do i store the herbs?
Keep herbs dry and stored in a cool, dark place away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight.
when should I take my herbs?
In most cases, take herbs on an empty stomach about 30 minutes before meals or at least 1 hour after eating.
If you have a sensitive digestive system or were instructed otherwise, you may take them 15-30 minutes after meals.
Take herbs at least 2 hours apart from caffeine, alcohol, medications, supplements, and other substances when possible.
What if I miss a dose?
Take it when you remember, unless it’s close to your next dose, then skip it. Do not double up.
Consistency helps, but it does not need to be perfect to be effective.
what should I avoid eating while taking herbs?
While on herbs, minimize raw, cold, greasy, fried, or overly sour foods, especially if your formula supports digestion. Otherwise, follow your usual or recommended diet.
Can i take herbs when i get sick?
Pause herbs if you develop an acute illness (like a cold or flu), unless otherwise directed. Resume once you’re feeling better.
can i take herbs if i get pregnant?
Pause herbs and contact the office so we can guide you on next steps.
What if i notice a reaction?
If you experience new or concerning symptoms, pause herbs and contact the office so we can reassess.
What is normal to experience?
Mild shifts in digestion, energy, sleep, temperature, or emotions can happen as your body responds and are usually temporary. If symptoms feel intense or persistent, pause herbs and contact the office.
A final note
Herbal medicine works gradually. Small changes over time are expected—contact the office anytime you need support.
